How amazing is this idea to treat life this way – with open-mouth kisses and no holds barred.
That’s hot.
So is your penmanship
I am officially the World’s Hardest Person To Get on The Phone. I mean for more than “Where are we meeting?” and “What kind of wine should I bring?” kinds of conversation, but in my defense, I ROCK the hand-written notecard. I make some, I buy some. ”Postage stamps” should probably be a line-item in my budget by now, and I find, make, and send cards – even to my friends who I see all the time.
I found these notecards on Danielle LaPorte’s blog, White Hot Truth. Many of you know her as a rockstar already (she is a frequent source of brilliant inspiration for me), and it turns out, she’s creative in the craft department as well. You can buy these cards here* or by clicking on that ginormous photo above.
Down Dog Epiphanies
My other favorite cards are the ones by Curly Girl Design. Leigh Standley’s collection of cards, calendars, notebooks, and other paper goods always deliver inspiring and quirky thoughts. My favorite one is one Nicole sent me back when I’d just completed yoga teacher training. It had a picture of a little yogini in Adho Mukha Svanasana and simply said,
“Funny, she thought, how much right-side up came from upside-down.”
Isn’t that the truth?
What are your favorite cards? Who was the last person you sent one to?

I love sending cards as well! It's one of my fave ways to connect with people, more so than a telephone call which is soon forgotten, but something to hold in your hands and re-read whenever you need a pick me up!
i'm not very good at sending cards. i wish i was. life is good has some great one- my favorite is the one with the heart on the front, and the message inside says "take my love everywhere you go". that sentiment just really sings to me.
I LOVE those cards. I really want to be better about sending notes and things regularly, especially with all my close friends living 800 miles away. Besides, who doesn't love getting mail?
I confess, I love the blank notes that I can buy at Target for like $3 a pack. They are so bright, cheery and fun! I also am in love with a Paper store that I found in DC; fortunately (or unfortunately?) they are on the web so I can track down their stuff anytime.
I just sent some cards out to friends over the weekend, just because!
I'm definitely one of the USPS biggest fans. I learned the art of writing letters and notes from my Grammie, who would send my mum and me cards and letters once a week (along with lots of the Clinique and Estee Lauder free gift goodies!) and I loved it.
Like you, I'm not much of a phone talker, but I love to send notes/cards/letters to friends to let them know I'm thinking of them.
I am trying to improve on my card sending frequency. I always get stumped by what to write though! I have plenty of gorgeous cards I bought at Chapters, a stack of blank ones to make my own, and a roll of stamps.
I am a BIG FAN of the handwritten word. If you ever come across me and need a stamp, in 99% of the time, I'll have one on me.
My last (hand-made!) card was sent to a dear friend in Germany who's celebrating her birthday this weekend. I can't wait to sit down and make more cards!
I pledged at the beginning of this year to only send out hand-made cards this year and I've pretty much stuck with it so far
The last card I sent was to Ms. Nora.. and my best friend and I send each other Fresh Ink cards from Hallmark. I probably have 20-30 since Freshman year of college.
The last card I sent was to my great grandmother, who just turned 102. I couldn't help but think about what stamps must have cost when she was in her twenties.
hi i was just e-introduced to you by nico via twitter haha (i'm @sweetcynic)
am happy for the e-introduction because now i have your blog to read and already i'm in love.
to answer your question: i love the white hot truth cards but really, due to tight budgets, i'm a fan of cheap and cute. i bought 4 packs of plain cream w/ butterfly stamp, and plain white with pink butterfly stamp from dollar store this week. sent thank you notes this week.
love sending snail mail.
