- On my food blog, Nomadic Foodie, I posted a little review of a quick and simple dinner fix. Check it out, and let me know what YOUR go-to weeknight fixes are!
- A year ago this week, I was guest blogging on Jenn’s blog about breaking wedding traditions, and testing out some Flickr-to-blog posts by reminiscing about Emmit’s Pub in Chicago after having spent a glorious evening there with some 20SB loves, including Rachel who flew out from Jersey to Chicago for about 20 hours, just to hang.
- I loved this post of Nicole‘s, that reminds us to keep what’s most important at the forefront of our attention.
Re-Photography
Finally, thanks to the generosity of a dear, dear friend, I’m back in the DSLR game. Rachel recently upgraded and has passed her Canon Rebel XT down to me – it’s just about the same camera I had before prior to it’s being stolen back in May.
Let’s just pause and take a moment to recognize the idea of paying it forward. I’m a firm believer in the concept, and look forward to the day I “outgrow” this camera as well and can pass it on when it’s time for me to upgrade.
I’ve already started learning, and luckily have a photog boyfriend who’s teaching me more than I ever thought I needed to know about aperture, shutter speed, composition, and all of that other stuff. I’ve already got a few gems out of these photo shoots, and will be sharing them in a number of ways soon – one of which being Project 365 (post one photo per day for a year), which I’ve decided to jump into. You can follow that Flickr group here, I’ll have photos in my sidebar, and you have a super fun way to check out these photos as well!
4 Girls, 365 Days
Rachel, Michelle (Gooseberried) and Lacey [Bean] decided to start the project on the same day (yesterday) and start a simple photo blog to share the pretty. We’re going to be posting our individual photos at 4 Girls, 365 Days, and occasionally, you’ll see a theme pop out if someone has an idea about something they’d like to try.

i’m so excited about this project 365, you have no idea. i really think it’s going to teach us a lot in terms of our photography and our cameras.
i can’t believe it’s been so long since chicago already, more than a year since we literally danced til the sun came up with some of the most amazing people i’ve ever met. seriously. best 20 hours of my life.
That WAS pretty amazing, wasn’t it? Also, SO excited about Photography 101 with you and posting this project. If nothing else, it’s a great way to learn from and be inspired by each other! Thanks for including me
My top priority this month is to prepare for Little Gray Suitcase’s launch in September! Hopefully it all pans out.
I LOVE YOUR PROJECTS and can’t wait to see that come to light! Go girl!
I’ll definitely follow along on your photography adventure–that’s such a great way to get comfortable with your camera.
Thank you! I’m totally open to inspiration and ideas – you take amazing photos… any one tip you wish you’d have known when you got started?
I followed along with Ev’Yan’s Project 365 and have been thinking about starting it myself, too! On a whim, I took a photo and uploaded it this morning, so I guess that means I’m in. I look forward to seeing how it progresses for you, too!
I want to see your pictures! Good luck
I won?! Woo! Emailing you now.
Right now all my ambition is going into SCHOOL SCHOOL SCHOOL! I want to be done at this time next year with a 4.0 GPA!
I tried to do the 365 project a few years ago during a deployment but lost motivation once I returned home. BUT, I’ve put it on my 101 in 1001 list again and will be starting again on August 1. I can’t wait! It’s such a great way to explore your camera!
Lots of new adventures! Selling our house, finding an apartment, starting grad school and having a 2nd baby in March. But, for all the stress, I’m loving it!
I did the 365 project and it was tough but I am really glad I finished it. I think you will love getting to know your camera and exploring creative ways to take photos. Enjoy it!
