Happy Birthday… Me!

I declared last year, 2009, as the Year of Lily, which was partially a nod to the pseudonym I was writing under before I realized how much more fun it is to NOT be an anonymous blogger, and partially a nod to May’s flower, the Lily of the Valley.  I decided it was going to be big, significant, and heart-opening.

And it was.  I went places, met people, and made choices that blessed me far beyond anything I could have imagined.  And when I got to the end of 2009 and looked back, I realized that that was really the year that defined who I am and where I wanted to be going.

When I decided to quit my corporate life, move to Colorado, and start exploring myself and my world, I recognized that if ’09 was the year that defined who I was, then 2010 would be the year that I’d find out what I was made of.

Five months in, I turn 27 today.  And so far?  2010 has challenged me and everything I resolved in 2009, more strongly defined characteristics about myself and my priorities, and continues to unfold a path in a life of amazing and beautiful relationships and experiences.

26 lit up my world, and I look forward to spending 27 and many more years to come soaring through it, recognizing and expressing immense gratitude for the blessings that are first the people in my life, and second the experiences I’ve had and shared that have made each year better than the one before it.
