I thrive on being busy, and I’m learning how to balance this love of doing with things like eating, sleeping, being a girlfriend, calling my mother, paying my bills, working out, and not getting lost in Boulder.  I’m a bit amazed at how quickly I found such incredible things to be a part of here already, but I like to believe that everything I’ve been doing and being up until this point has landed these perfect-fit relationships right in my lap (Law of Attraction and all).

Here’s a little snapshot of the organizations, efforts, and projects I’ve either recently jumped on board with, upped my participation in, or just really wanted to talk about.  Some are here in Boulder, others are just new and shiny and exciting.

The Wellness Initiative, Boulder | Volunteer

What it is: I mentioned this briefly before, but another mention is warranted.  TWI’s mission is to “improve the physical health, social and emotional development, and academic performance of low-income youth through yoga-based wellness programs.”  I’ve been wanting to do something JUST like this ever since having completed CorePower Yoga’s Teacher Training program.

My role: Right now, I’m helping Executive Director Mara Rose with anything she asks me to.  So far that’s involved roping a designer friend of mine in on helping with some flyers and helping plan and attend a fundraiser we’re planning for this spring.

My goals: To help this organization that I whole-heartedly believe in raise money to keep the program active and influential in area schools.  To eventually be one of the volunteer teachers, either in a middle or a high school here in the area.

Girls in Tech – Denver/Boulder | Member

What it is: I actually just wrote up a little review of the first chapter meeting for boulder.me here, so you can check that out.  Or just know that it’s a great national organization that’s set out to support, recognize, and provide tools and education to women in the tech industry.

* MINNEAPOLIS friends: I know there’s not a chapter there yet, but if you want to head one up, let me know and I can get you in touch with the right people!  Katie Schutrop and Erica Mayer… I could totally see you two tag-teaming this; your names were the first to pop in my head! *

My role: I attended the Denver/Boulder chapter’s first meeting last night, and have jumped in and agreed to help any and every way I can to get this up and off the ground.

My goals: To meet and learn from other women in the Denver/Boulder tech scene, to make new friends, and to sharpen my own skills in the various niches of this great, exciting field.

Bloggers in Sin City | Planning Committee, Sponsorship Starlet

What it is: I joined 26 other bloggers last June on a totally Twitter-inspired and planned trip to Sin City.  It was such a raging success that we’ve decided to do it bigger and better this year.  Here are the details, and you can check out more info about registration and updates here:

Who? Any and all bloggers who want to join the fun!
What?
Bloggers in Sin City Meetup
Where?
Las Vegas; hotel details and group pricing TBA soon
When?
Thursday May 20 – Sunday May 23, 2010
Deadline to Sign Up:
Thursday April 15, 2010

My role: I’m the Sponsorship Starlet, so I’ll be reaching out to business and groups who want to get their name out to a wildly amazing group of influential bloggers and who can help us make BiSC 2 even better than the first year! If that’s YOU, send me an email and let’s start talking!

My goals: To get as many awesome bloggers in attendance as possible (have you signed up?!).  To partner with some amazing organizations and sponsors to make this relationship and event HUGE and unforgettable.

20-Something Bloggers Admin Team | MAD (Charity) Admin

What it is: I say – 20sb is an amazing resource, network, and most importantly – community – of bloggers in their 20s, experiencing everything from first jobs, to career changes, to weddings, new relationships, major life changes, entering the workforce, nearing their 30′s, to grad school, and any other major life changes and events that come our way.  I’ve met some of my closest friends, smartest collaborative partners, and even my boyfriend through this community.  I’m absolutely thrilled to be on the admin team, taking our 10k+ (!!!) members to the next level of On and Offline Awesome.

My role: MAD Admin.  No, I’m not angry.  That stands for Make A Difference, and I’m thrilled to be working with Nicole, an amazingly spirited, hilarious, big-hearted world changer on the charity partnerships.  You’ll remember that we joined on with ItStartsWith.Us late last year?  Well, I’ll be working closely with Nate to be heading up that partnership, helping Nicole bring in new relationships, and working with Derek and Lisa on other partnerships that come our way.

My goals: 20k members!  And an influential group of passionate 20-somethings that believe that change DOES start with us, and that we are able to change the world by starting with our own.

Boulder.me | Contributor

What it is: Boulder.me is an awesome resource of a website to anyone new to Boulder, new to Boulder’s tech scene, or who just wants some really great information on any of the above.

My role: I’ll be contributing weekly as I learn my way around, stake my place in the tech scene, and plant my roots in this thriving community.  My first post went up today on the Girls in Tech event I attended last night.

My goals: Get to know others in the tech, start-up, and interactive scene in Boulder.  Hone my expository writing skills.  Have some really great experiences.  Write about them.  Meet amazing and inspiring people.  Write about them.

Etc.

Oh, and I’m still doing this stuff:

FRWD – Blogger for this innovative and awesome Minneapolis-based new media agency
ExaminerBoulder Social Networking Examiner
e-Swagger – I was brought on as a Swagger Coach with the launch in January 2010.  My first contributions go up soon :)

Up and coming

I’m revisiting my blogging/podcasting/awesome-doing relationship with Sacre Bleu Wine.  STAY TUNED!  I AM SO EXCITED.

I'm exhausted by this list, and also impressed. Good for you! This move to Colorado was clearly the right thing to do – you are in the flow! Enjoy.

Holy cow, girly. You're BUSY! You and I have so much in common with the whole tech/social media scene, need to be doing something/networking at every minute, etc. I really hope we can do a meet up here soon. I'll take a look at the Vegas meet up thing for a Whrrl sponsorship – we're looking to break into the 20-something crowd this year. You'd just have to use Whrrl instead of Foursquare. ;)

Doni, I am SO impressed with all that you are and all that you're doing. I know I mentioned it when I had the opportunity to hang out today, but you really have hit the ground running in Boulder. Colorado is so happy to have you (<<< yep, that was me speaking on behalf of ALL of Colorado. So.)! I am absolutely thrilled that you are here! You inspire me, missy.

I'd be willing to give Whrrl a try! We should absolutely talk soon about what kind of sponsorships we could have around Vegas, that'd be great! I'd love it if it were startups and tech companies like that! Thanks for the kudos, and I can't wait until we get to connect! SxSW?!
