Post image for Milestones, Moving Forward, and Giveaway Winners!

This is my 200th post here, at {doniree.com}.  WOW, huh?  I know we just celebrated the one-year anniversary, but it’s kind of awesome to see that I’ve had 200 days worth of having SOMETHING to say.  Let’s not analyze when it was important or when it wasn’t, but hey, that’s cool right?

Awhile back, I’d thought about doing a Nintendo DSi giveaway in honor of this mini milestone post, but when the Nature Made Good Mood Blogger Gig came up and I realized I had to bribe you for votes needed your help, I decided to change those plans.

Funny how it all ended up on the same day anyway, huh?

First of all, I did not make the next round for that Blogging Gig, but that’s cool.  There were TONS of applicants who were on their game way before I was, but I really wanted to let you all know how much I appreciate you rallying behind me with the votes and the tweets and all of the support.  SERIOUSLY, that’d have been an amazing experience, and I am so grateful for so many people who got so involved with helping me out!

It’s cool though, as there have been some killer opportunities that have come my way since then and it’s one of those doors-closed-windows-open kind of deals that I’m really, really excited to share!  I won’t be all teasey about it again, but I will invite you to stay tuned here over the next couple (like, two) weeks here while I wrap up the Yoga Teacher Training reflections and start getting back to a normal pace of life for a little while (I can dream, right?).

Anyway, without further ado, I present to you the winner of the Nintendo DSi giveaway!

DSiWinner

Miss Samantha Piette, who blogs at All Sam’s Idea was a freaking ROCKSTAR with 84 entries, by far the most over the course of the contest.  The best part?  After the first few, she started leaving me quotes from Scrubs which made my day every time I read one.  THANK YOU, Sam for your support!  Even better yet?  She’s in MINNESOTA!  So, Sam, I’ll hand off your prizes to you when we meet for dinner soon at Broder’s, k?  Congrats!

Now, there was a giant handful of other rockstars – whether you were commenting or not – as well and I want to just make note of the time and clicking you all put into supporting me.  Some of you know me, some of you don’t, and I’m just absolutely floored by the support I received.

The Top 10 commenters after Samantha are going to get a special little treat from me too, so THANK YOU also to: Melissa (one of my college girlfriends!), Megan, Nicky, Katie, Crystal, Kaci, Matt (who tweeted, emailed, blogged, and Facebooked for me!), Steph, Arielle, and Erin.

For your valiant efforts, you get $5 from me.  No, seriously.

  1. Pick a cause/charity I can support – $5 there
  2. $5 Amazon Gift Card
  3. $5 iTunes Gift Card

Email me your choice at doniree{at}gmail{dot}com or leave it in the comments!

To EVERYONE that voted even just once, whether or not you ever commented or let me know – Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU.

You’re all winners in my book.

And seriously.  Stay tuned here, folks.  Things are about to get awesome.

What's funny is that after going to my non-profit management class last night, I was really inspired by our discussion and will post about it at some point, and then this morning I thought of a different non-profit-related post I wanted to write…but I am still going to choose an itunes gift card because I'm a jerk. Failure.

That's totally awesome. My first choice would be a donation to the Anti-Cruelty Society, although I cannot figure out from their page how to just make a $5 donation! Second choice would be the ASPCA. And if THAT can't work…just donate $5 to your local animal shelter. Please. :)

Okay I totally am in line with these charities, so for my $5 you can combine it with Matt's.

You already donated to the Women's Center in Morocco (which is now fully funded, btw!), so you don't need to do anything more.Congrats on your 200th post and being awesome!
