Can't Live Without

What can’t I live without?

So, I’m participating in the 20sb Blog Carnival (#alittlelatetothepartyiknow), this time asking bloggers to touch on something they can’t live without.  I was trying to think of a cool spin on this that would be all thought-provoking and pensive, but then I realized I’ve done a lot of introspecting lately and let’s be honest – it’s kind of exhausting.

So I just decided to have fun with this one. So, here’s my list of Top 10 Things I Can’t Live Without:

  1. Love
  2. My lululemon Groove Pants (ok, so I could live without them BUT I DON’T WANT TO)
  3. Champagne – for celebrating everything, even Tuesday nights.
  4. The inspiring relationships I have with friends and family
  5. Chocolate milk.  Seriously.
  6. Music
  7. Traveling and exploring places – it’s my favorite.
  8. Hugs and kisses
  9. Laughter (Want to win me over? Make me laugh).
  10. Food. I mean, obviously, but really I LOVE a good pasta, seafood, or cheese dish.

And I obviously wonder how my life would be different without the impact of the Internet.  Sure, I could live without it, but I have met so many wonderful people through the connections that have started here or here or here, and I just love the direction those connections are taking my life*.

~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~

*foreshadowing, bitches

I definitely can't live without the Internet, chocolate or a trip to look forward to…and after reading your #10, I really want some seafood right now!

Jesus, my beautiful wife, my beautiful girls, XXXOOO, friends, music, wine, seafood, jocularity, not hitting a deer! After the first three, the others can be arranged in any order. And as for Choc milk….I haven't had any in a LONG time, and when I pass it in the store I am tempted to take one home, but would drink it all before I reached Betsy's lane. :-) Love yaPops

AWESOME list!! I can't *live* without the Internet really either {or wouldn't want to}, music definitely, or pen/paper. Probably wine either ;)

I'm going to get real corny here so brace yourself. On top of your fabulous list, I'd have to say I couldn't live without the freedom to be creative and thought-provoking, inspiring friends. It's easy to have friends but it's hard to find the good ones that keep ya thinking.

You're one of the thought-provoking ones that keep me on my toes, that's for sure. Whether it's discussing the finer points of following your dreams over wine and pizza (we need to do that again, btw) or if it's sharing supergeeky psych facts with each other, I'm completely inspired by you. :) So glad we've had so many great years and can't wait for more!

I've heard good things about Lululemon, but ya know what? There's no way in hell I will ever justify paying $100 for workout pants. Ever.

Reply

doniree November 5, 2009 at 12:38 am

I said that too, and then I tried them and with the amount of yoga that my legs actually do, they're SO worth it. If I can find a cheaper alternative that's as effective, I'm open to that, but for now? Having a couple pairs of these works for me. Besides, when they hire me to do awesome things for them, that'll take the edge off. (Dear lululemon, please hire me. I'll do awesome things. Promise)

Chocolate milk and a peanut butter bagel is like, my favorite quick breakfast. Also? I have these chocolate straws that you put in milk so when you drink it, it turns chocolate. Best thing ever.

1- family. 2- Jeff (awww) 3- music 4- babies (obviously not my own, but I have to visit mom at the daycare every now and then to get my baby fix! maybe one day my own…) 5- coffee 6- flip flops in the summer 7- flowers/plants in my home 8- pizza 9- hugs 10- YOU (saved the best for last! Okay so that's really cheesy, but I love you and you know that and I love our sistership. That somehow sounded better than friendship or relationship, so there. I made up a new word!)

1. My mom and little brother (who I consider to be my entire close family) 2. My closest friends 3. Caffeine (tea or coffee, really) 4. Sunshine (I don't do well with long periods of rainy, gloomy days) 5. Music Music Music Music Music 6. Intarwebs (from email to social networking to doing massive amounts of research for work and school… gotta have it to be sane)7. Food – especially the sweet, carb loaded, or chocolate kinds. :) This includes wine, btw. Because wine is a food. :) 8. My KITTEH! I love my kitten so much. she keeps me sane when I have no contact with real life people some days. 9. Mascara. I know, it's superficial. But I gotta have my mascara.10. The knowledge that grad school is just a PHASE in my life, that life will not always be so hard and stressful and scary and anxiety-producing… that one day, in 5 years or so, I will be able to relax, sleep eight hours and not wake up knowing today will probably be hard, that I can focus on yoga and eat well and be in better shape physically and mentally. (Which is why need the first 9 things in my life!)

oops pressed post too soon… meant to also say…while I do not like champagne because it gives me heartburn, I do love a great glass of wine. Also, I LOVE to travel, but the stress of getting behind on school and mylack of money makes it hard for me to really enjoy. I cannot wait to be able to travel more without getting so behind on coursework! :D I miss kisses… and I need more hugs in my life. I should just start demanding hugs. :)

Great list! And I admire your attitude, knowing that you're working extremely hard now for some great results and that THIS is a stage in your life and that you will get to reap the benefits of your hard work. And I can't live w/o mascara either.

I almost bought champagne when I got my money refunded into my bank account after a big debit card scam hit the city and I was Overdraft Queen for two weeks. It was also a Tuesday – so I couldn't bring myself to do it. But maybe next time I have a little mini thing to celebrate, I'll just do it anyway :)
