Project: Love Story and 20sb Blog Swaps

by doniree on October 26, 2009

Happy Monday!  Today’s a big day, as things here are just all over the place!  I know I’ve directed your attention to Rachel and her Love Story Project blog before, but my story’s featured today, so I’m going to send you BACK over there to check it out!

Next up – it’s 20sb Blog Swap Day!  I’ve participated in this before and have discovered some really great bloggers by swapping things up with them.

Switching places here at this place, we’re welcoming Jeney, and her appreciation for all things autumn (even though those of us in the Midwest are particularly bitter about it right now).  I’ll be over at her place today, so check that out too!

On my travel and food blog, NomadicFoodie.com, Little Miss Obsessive introduces us to some NYC cuisine, and I spent some time in her corner gushing about Minneapolis fare.  Since this summer was my first trip to NYC, I’m loving what she’s dishing out here.

Lots to see today!  Here’s Jeney’s Swap Post – enjoy!

For those of you who know Ben over at No Ordinary Rollercoaster, you are well aware of his seething hatred for the season those individuals who don’t live in tropical areas know as hell on earth winter. I share this burning, passionate loathing of all things snow and ice.

However, I discovered when he took over the internet that we share a love for the spectacular season that is autumn. And let me tell you, it looks AWESOME where he lives.

While the fall is not quite as beautiful here in North Dakota, it still rocks my socks off. Nothing can compare the transformation of foliage from luscious greens to vibrant and pulsating yellows, reds, and oranges. Watching kids jump into those massive piles of Technicolor leaves or stepping out of my way to get that extra crunchy one never fails to bring a smile to my face.

I love it when the weather is just cool enough to wear your favorite hoodie and be comfortable. I adore being able to channel my inner 80-year old while wearing my favorite grandma sweater and drink hot cider. The feel of your cheeks and nose turning the slightest shade of red from the wind outside is by far the best feeling in the world.

The best part about fall, though? Sports! Football season starting, the hunt for October, rambunctious tailgating, kids playing soccer in the park, playing pick-up ball, and those rivalries that keeps sports fans coming back for more is simply amazing to me. Back in the day (when I was actually athletic) I would give anything to be outside with a soccer ball or just running around my childhood neighborhood all day. Now, I am perfectly content throwing a football around the front yard with my good friends.

I simply worship everything that comes with fall in the Midwest. I think Ben says it best, “If I could live somewhere where it was fall all year round I would be so all over it like a fat kid on cake.”
