Inspiration, Yogatinis, and Photo Booth

Killer things that happened this week?

  • My awesome friends nominated me for some kickass bloggy awards (Most Inspiring?!  Blogger to Follow?  Yeah, I might have teared up a little bit.  THANK YOU).
  • I dyed my hair “back to its natural color” only to realize that I’m NO LONGER A NATURAL BLONDE. This is an even tougher identity crisis than that time I changed my area code from 651 to 612.
  • I had some really awesome and inspiring conversations with lots of people (ok, more than just those three, but seriously – crazy brainstorming things happening here).
  • Jamie and I caught up via video iChat once I figured out HOW.
  • I did a LOT of yoga.
  • I had a great dinner and catch-up night with my sister.
  • I met some of my old CM girlfriends for a great dinner, wine, gossip and girl talk night at Spill the Wine.
  • My yoga friends decided that happy effective yogis hang out and practice and play together, and we’re now cooking up some sort of yogatini party. Green Tea-nis!  (All invited, bruises inevitable)
  • I remembered my shiny new Macbook comes with Photo Booth and decided to take pictures of my new hair color, my yoga clothes (I love my lulus!), and pretending to be a pop art superhero.

You’re welcome.

Kissy Face!

Photo 1

Black and White – Makes me look all sweet and innocent.  Let’s just all pretend that my bangs aren’t too short (they’re too short).

Photo 9

Just being the superhero that I am.  (Or cartoon.  This one is open to interpretation).

Happy Weekend, Friends.

Things are about to get wild.

You're amazing, lady! It really has been a good week for you! And I'm happy you found where PhotoBooth was on your computer because these photos are too cute!

Awww, I miss my Photobooth. I need to purchase a new Macbook ASAP.Also, your darker hair is inspiring me to go back to my roots too — I love it!

Thank you! I bought mine refurbished, and think that was a great decision. As for the hair… mine's just slightly darker than my natural color (lightbrown, apparently) and I had her give it a red tint for pizazz, but I'mstill not used to seeing myself in the mirror and not be super blonde! You can do it (and then post pictures)!

You're so cute it hurts, seriously. You need to reign it in or your readers are going to mobilize and start doing yoga on your front lawn just for the love of you. You've been warned!

I like you on cough syrup highs. ;-) Actually, the idea of leading youfolks through sun salutations and crescent lunge series would make my life. And thank you for the compliments. :) With my reddish brown hair and bangsthough, I kind of feel like I'm channeling you. Which makes me feel so verylovely.

Yeah, apparently I'm naturally somewhere between dirty blonde and lightbrown. (I'm holding onto dirty blonde; the stylist laughed at me).

I dig the new hair color! I have my natural 'dirty blonde' color right now, well, except for the purple tips… but I'm having a really big itch to go dark brown. The fact that you look awesome with darker hair is not helping!! :P

So, I didn't read through the other comments, because I want to think I thought of this on my own and made this observation -But you look a lot happier now. Not that you never looked happy before – I saw pictures of you in Vegas, and I even posed with you in NYC, but you had an almost… hesitant look on your face, like you weren't completely there. Looking back, I could almost see your mind wandering, and thinking of other things. But now, you look truly happy – centered – in the moment. And I love that.

so cute you are with the new hair color! and I completely understand where you're coming from when it comes to dealing with the change in area code. My old area code change when I used to live in new jersey was borderline-tragic.

Yeah, I had an emotional reaction for sure. I grew up in a suburb of St.Paul, then lived in St. Paul for a little while before I moved toMinneapolis. I switched area codes when I switched from T-Mobile to AT&T(for my iPhone!) last summer and have been 612 – Minneapolis – ever since. I'm cool w/ it now, but still reminisce about the good ol' 651 days.

I was at a conference a couple weekends ago and I met Dave Romanelli – a big yoga enthusiast from L.A. He has a new book out called "Livin' in the Moment – Getting Tp Ecstasy through Wine, Chocolate and Music." I totally thought of you when I met the guy and bought his book! If you haven't already looked into it, you definitely should – it's fantastic!! xoxo

I love the yoga meet-up idea! At the yoga studio I go to, it seems like no one is ever really that social. Wish it were different! :)
