SacreBleu!
Sacrebleu is an old French profanity, meant as a cry of surprise … is also used many times in American cartoons that depict French characters. (via)
Anyone who stalks my blog knows me even just a little knows that two of my absolute most favorite things ever are wine and blogging (and often at the same time).
A couple of years ago, I blogged about an event that Sacre Bleu Wine put on here in Minneapolis that included a great rock show, the start of my from-afar-love-affair with Mike Schwandt and White Light Riot, and a wine tasting at what was then a brandspankingnew bar/venue in the Cities.
Shortly after, I found myself wine blogging and even taping a few podcasts for Sacre Bleu (if you’re a stalker interested you can peruse my Authored page for links to those here), which was exciting and fun and an opportunity to meet a couple of really awesome local folks. It’s also really inspiring to see an organization like Sacre Bleu really successfully utilizing the power that is social media – they’ve got a great Twitter presence, have revamped their site since I was last involved (and it is PRETTY), and keep a finger closely on the pulse of music, movies, and other pop culture fun finds. In short, they’re an awesome group to hang with.
I’m also a wildly obsessed fan member of 20-Something Bloggers (a social network connecting 8k+ 20-something bloggers), so when my friends at SBW alerted me to having INTERVIEWED my friend and one of our 20sb chief admins, I could hardly contain my excitement.
The blogging talent and growth at 20sb is astounding. I’ve been a member since May of 2008 (member #1250, holler!) and have met so many of the most amazing people ever through [what us locals call] the network. It’s so exciting to be a part of a community that can see such crazy tremendous growth so quickly, and yet still remain so close and connected. Y’all know what I’m talkin’ about. I’ve seen you kids in each others’ weddings, birthday parties, offices, vacations, Tweetups, Meetups, dinner parties, sleepovers, etc., etc.
We’re a close-knit little group of 8k+, I’d say.
I won’t go into any more detail here because you really need to hop over to the Sacre Bleu website and check out that conversation, for very important reasons such as:
- I said so.
- If you’re unfamiliar with 20sb, you can read about my favorite online social network ever and the threads behind some of the most amazing people I’ve met in the last couple of years.
- I’m extremely proud of my own involvement with both groups, and have warm fuzzies knowing that connections to each of them helped spark a relationship between both groups (relationship-building FTW).
- Wine and blogging!
- The picture of DShan makes it totally worth the hop (also pictured: 20sb Creator and Chief Admin Lisa, other kickass 20sb’ers Rachel, Jenn, and Jamie).

You are wonderful. Thank you, again, for such warm comments.
It looks like your 20-something blogging friends are all unusually top-heavy! Is that a prerequisite to join the group?

Or… it's a caricature artist's creative license
Didn't he?! He's such a smart kid, that DShan. And I also enjoy being such
an involved member
I know! Way to go 20sb!
What an amazing article! Thanks for sharing it with us, Doni. It's so wonderful to be part of this great community.
“Warm Fuzzies” has been added to my lexicon, and I am picking up all the dropped links in this post I don't already have .
Effective post much?
Ha, I wondered if I over-linked it, but apparently not! And “warm fuzzies”
is kind of a favorite of mine.
Like you!
Soon, lovely!
I'll be there in just over a month!
Wine and blogging and friends are my favorite things ever.

It's nice that despite my frenetic life and lack of consistent blogging, things like 20SB keep me plugged in:) Thanks for all the love – I love the tweets about that pic of me. I only sent one over to SBW, and ended up with a bunch up there. They can really do their research on people:)
Thanks D! For all you've done for 20SB.

Love, love, love. It's really, really crazy and wonderful how fast 20SB has grown in this past year(ish), and I am SO happy that it brought us together and made us friends.
Awww…. *hugs*
