Naked (Face)

Hi, my name is Doni and I’m an eyeliner-holic.

Hi, Doni.

Seriously. Liner and mascara – with my fair skin and blonde-ish eyelashes, I deem those necessary.

So when this beautiful little project surfaced and started making its rounds (from what I can tell, the whole thing started here), I wanted to participate, but no eyeliner?  We’ll see about that.

The call was simply to post a picture of your own beautiful face, sans make-up, fresh-faced and bright-eyed, and to celebrate it.  Bask in your own natural beauty.  I am woman, hear me roar!

Or something.

I wanted to play, I held off.  I mean – my blog’s never seen me without makeup!  Eventually, I did try a couple of times, and the couple of self-photos I’ve tried to take with my little point-and-shoot Casio look absolutely awful.

So, when Rachel was here last weekend, she forced encouraged me to take advantage of both her more forgiving lens and the perfect evening lighting, and she shot a few Naked (Face) pictures of me.

Zero concealer. Zero eyeliner. Zero mascara. I didn’t even put chapstick on.

And she swears she didn’t photoshop these (though I might’ve hinted that she could’ve if she wanted to).  BUT SHE DIDN’T.

I’m pretty pleased with how they turned out.  I’m kind of glow-y.  I mean, maybe it’s the sunlight and all, but I like to think I’m all bright and shiny from within. Right?

Anyway… this is me, sprawled out in the grass in my Minneapolis backyard, making goofy faces because it’s what I do.
