Hi, my name is Doni and I’m an eyeliner-holic.

Seriously. Liner and mascara – with my fair skin and blonde-ish eyelashes, I deem those necessary.
So when this beautiful little project surfaced and started making its rounds (from what I can tell, the whole thing started here), I wanted to participate, but no eyeliner? We’ll see about that.
The call was simply to post a picture of your own beautiful face, sans make-up, fresh-faced and bright-eyed, and to celebrate it. Bask in your own natural beauty. I am woman, hear me roar!
Or something.
I wanted to play, I held off. I mean – my blog’s never seen me without makeup! Eventually, I did try a couple of times, and the couple of self-photos I’ve tried to take with my little point-and-shoot Casio look absolutely awful.
So, when Rachel was here last weekend, she forced encouraged me to take advantage of both her more forgiving lens and the perfect evening lighting, and she shot a few Naked (Face) pictures of me.
Zero concealer. Zero eyeliner. Zero mascara. I didn’t even put chapstick on.
And she swears she didn’t photoshop these (though I might’ve hinted that she could’ve if she wanted to). BUT SHE DIDN’T.
I’m pretty pleased with how they turned out. I’m kind of glow-y. I mean, maybe it’s the sunlight and all, but I like to think I’m all bright and shiny from within. Right?
Anyway… this is me, sprawled out in the grass in my Minneapolis backyard, making goofy faces because it’s what I do.

I haven't done this as a project, but seeing as I never leaned how to properly apply makeup, there has never ever been a photo of me with eyeliner on. Except for possibly a 2nd grade Halloween pic where I was a rock star and my mom did my makeup. Anyway, I'd say about 50% of my photos are sans-makeup.
I love the way you see things like light and angles and textures andimmediately think of photos you can take and ways you can use all thosethings! I agree – these are some of my faves from the weekend. You'reamazing

out of the whole weekend, i think these are my most favorite pictures i had taken. you look positively stunning and i don't care what you say… you don't need eyeliner. The light was SO PERFECT, seriously… when i walked into the backyard, i nearly had a heart attack, and other than that freaking bug that wouldn't hop off into oblivion… it was so much fun. thank you for being brave, they turned out magnificently. love your face.

Aww, pretty! I've taken photos of myself like this, and it's freeing not to be wearing makeup. Granted, when I was still in school, that would have freaked me out.

Hey! Thanks for reading along! It's actually funny because I just added your blog to my Google Reader via Nicole's blog this morning! Such a small world. I grew up in the St. Paul area near Randolph Street and 35E – I'm sure after living in the hamline area you know where I'm talking about. Love your blog and you are so gorgeous in those pictures! I am definitely going to have to give that make-up less pic project a go one of these days! I'm such a mascara whore though I'm not sure how that would go over :/Once I'm back in the States would love to catch up for wine sometime! Grand Ave?? Gosh I miss that place.
You know, I actually noticed that on your blogroll today, so thank you! I moved out of St. Paul a year ago and was on the corner of Hague and Dunlap, literally about a mile from where you were! There's a Trader Joe's now at Randolph and Lexington! I haven't been in there yet, but I have a friend that lives at Griggs/Jefferson and she's REALLY excited about it! So YES, drinks on Grand when you're back here! Or you know, maybe I'll find myself in Oz one of these days

I'm a quasi-anonymous blogger, so I won't be posting naked-face pictures, but there are plenty of pictures of me on Facebook without makeup – namely halfway through a bike ride/wine tasting in 100+ degree heat. I was a hot mess. Literally.You look lovely sans eyeliner. Really! P.S. My fair-eyelashed friend SWEARS by eyelash tinting.
I JUST bought an eyelash tinter thing from Sephora! It's supposed to belike mascara that lasts 4 days… so far it's alright but I need to give itanother 4 days before I decide if I love it or not.And bike wine/wine tasting? I WANT IN!
