So, I live in Minneapolis. Now, do you see that star up north of Duluth? The one that’s marked by the giant text that says LUTSEN MOUNTAINS? Thats where the roomies (and Erin!) and I are headed up to this weekend. I could NOT be more excited.
I know, I know. And NO, I don’t really stay put for too long. While I’ll admit, I’m a little ready for a weekend at home, I’m BEYOND thrilled that we have three days up in Minnesota’s northwoods to hang out, unwind, read, tan, hike, and just plain veg. Oh, and they have one of these things, which I’m curious about:
Specifically, here are the things I’m looking forward to:
- BEING ON A LAKE. I haven’t been up north yet this summer and this is just unheard of for me. So, Lake Superior? I HAVE MISSED YOU and your lighthouses and your beautiful shores and rocky cliffs.
- GIRL TIME. Angie and I have even plotted that we’ll be bringing skincare masks and cucumbers and nail polishes for some real, true girlie sleepover fun. (Re: giggly pillow fights with feathers flying everywhere)
- Blueberry pancakes and mimosa breakfasts. I made them promise this would happen, else I wouldn’t go.
- BOOKS. Of all the the things I could’ve spent money on last week in NYC, I spent the largest sum at Borders on five new books. I plan to finish at least 2 of them. Reviews later? Maybe.
- UNPLUG.
- Hang out with my roomies (plus Erin!). Seriously, I live with the best girls on the planet, and we have crazy busy schedules that keep us from seeing a lot of each other. Having a whole weekend to gossip and catch up and cook and tan and drink lots of wines and beers? I seriously can’t wait.
To the mountains! (or you know, Minnesota’s version of mountains. Ok fine – To the woods!)

You will have such a blast! My girls weekend is coming up over Labor Day (heading to Chi-town again!) and I am stoked! Girl time is the greatest!Have fun!
I don't understand girlie time. I've never had it. It sounds fun, though. Most of my friends aren't into that sort of thing.But tomorrow my sister and I are going for pedicures, does that count?
