in Social Media, Twitter

While I love the irony that both Twitter and Facebook were down at the same time AND NO ONE COULD TALK ABOUT IT, I have to admit, it made for a pretty productive morning completely freaked me out.

Anyway, not to let The Man get me down (is there a man behind social media?), I kept a running list of what I would’ve tweeted should I have been able to tweet.  (I also hashtag my conversations in GChat, get over it.)  It’s not any more interesting now than it would’ve been reading it every half hour throughout the morning, but I’m sharing them anyway BECAUSE I CAN.

  • Huh.  Twitter’s down.  That sucks.
  • Oh, so’s Facebook.  That’s weird.  I wonder if they’re related.
  • CONSPIRACY!
  • Isn’t it ironic that everyone probably WANTS to Tweet about how Twitter’s broken and they CAN’T BECAUSE IT’S BROKEN.
  • Wonder if there’s any correlation between the fact that Twitter’s down and my Inbox is totally under control.
  • Daydreaming about dresses I’m finding on Etsy… planning a tea party with @kylaroma so we can wear these new dresses…
  • WAIT.  WordPress isn’t down too, is it?  Why’s it loading so slow?
  • WHEW.  It’s REALLY slow, which is annoying but I’d start getting suspicious if all of these were down at once.
  • I’m going to LA and NYC on back to back weekends.  My boss is convinced I’m going to be an NYC-person, not LA.  We’ll see.

Yeah, I have to admit I was freaking out when Twitter was down this morning too. I was all "Twitter is down? Huh. Well, this is no fun. What am I going to do with myself now???"Also, I'm so incredibly sad that I won't be in NYC with you. That would have been such an awesome place for us to meet. :(

I am SO disappointed you won't be there for that, but I guess we'll justhave to meet in Austin!

I was SERIOUSLY considering doing the exact same thing with my impossible tweets. But I was too lazy.

Ok, that's kind of sad. Both the pony thing and our dependence on Social Media.

If I were to call it tragic that would be awfully dramatic, wouldn't it? Screw it, it was EPICALLY TRAGIC.and Twitterberry still won't connect on my blackberry so I'm whiteknuckling it right now.

That is a pretty delicious irony. In the olden days, it happened when AIM was down. Or the telegraph.Or when one of the horses in the Pony Express had to be put down.

Isn't it crazy how much our days are affected by Twitter being down? I ended up being stuck at home waiting for the AC repair man, and I couldn't tweet about it! Scandalous.

What I would have tweeted in response to this tweet:Daydreaming about dresses I’m finding on Etsy… planning a tea party with @kylaroma so we can wear these new dresses…@doniree @kylaroma I am inviting myself to your make believe tea party. I own many appropriate dresses, love tea, and am not at all pushy. Except for the inviting myself to your tea party thing. I'm fun though. Promise. #partycrasher
