Celebrities are cool and all, but to be honest – and fine, with a couple of exceptions – I don’t have grand hopes or expectations to meet any and I don’t know that I’d be particularly blown away if I did.
(Jon Stewart, Zach Braff, Zoey Deschanel and Dave Matthews – you are the exceptions.)
This stadium on the other hand? I’m not gonna lie, I got goosebumps. Butterflies. Absolutely giddy. I walked along the side of it touching the old, concrete walls. Looking up in awe pretending just for a moment that I was actualy there to see a game from the bleachers – not just walking past on the way to a bar on the other side.
One of these days – this summer? – I’ll see a game here, but for now – this is as close as I’ve come.
That didn’t change the fact that I giggled as I threw my arms up in pure joy that I am actually standing in front of Wrigley-freakin’-Field.
You can take a girl out of the National League, but you can’t take the inherent I’m-truly-a-baseball-fan-FIRST out of the girl.

Dave Matthews and Jon Stewart… I would tap that. Er, I mean, I would be blown away if I met them as well.
GO CUBBIES!!!
You're not a baseball fan if Wrigley Field isn't on your bucket list. True (American League) fan or not.
LOL! I was just there yesterday! http://10-eleven.blogspot.com/2009/07/wrigley.htm…
I have to admit that it doesn't affect me quite the same, as I see it almost daily (and I am a Sox fan!), but I'm totally on board with Zach Braff!
Every “true baseball” fan (read; National League) should go to Wrigley Field AT LEAST ONCE. It’s like a….er, pilgrimage!
