- the feeling of personal health: fitting into pants I haven’t worn since last summer because I’ve lost 8 pounds this year. Yes friends, 8. I attribute most of that to the whole eating/cooking overhaul I took on at the beginning of the year and the rest to The Pescatarian Experiment in which I cut out all meat (except seafood) from my diet from Ash Wednesday, still and continuing through Sunday. I’m kind of a rockstar, I realize this.
- the feeling of family: making plans with my mom to have dinner with my parents (and hopefully sister! Miranda, please join us…!) this week.
- the feelings of friendship, joy, and, support: spending just a few precious moments on the phone with my bestie, celebrating her and her fiance’s recent purchase of their very first home. CONGRATS YOU TWO!
- the feelings of friendship, inspiration, and motivation: meeting one of my oldest and most cherished girlfriends for yoga, holding each other accountable to just be there (showing up is the first step, right?), and then going afterwards for coffee (her)/tea (me) and conversation (since we respectfully observe silence in the yoga room and can’t exactly “catch up” during our vinyasas).
- the feeling of accomplishment: sinking lower than ever into utkatasana (chair pose), actually pause at low plank during my chadarangas rather than just fall flat on the floor, and stay in vasisthasana (side plank) for longer than a split second. I realize I’m going to HURT tomorrow, but damn was that worth it!
- the feelings of home, laughter, and friendship: coming home to all three other roommates being home (I love when this happens), finding at least one of them a little drunk and hoarse after yelling at the TV during the Wild game, doing a little yelling myself as we caught the end of the Twins game (TWINS WIN YEAH!), and then singing GIVE ME BACK THAT FILET-O-FISH at Allison because she hates the song.
- the feeling of peace, rest and me-time: crawling into bed with Roxy, my new awesome journal, one of the books I’m currently reading, and watching my TV boyfriend, Jon Stewart, do his daily bit.

Today: Because in all it’s simplicity, it was absolute magic.

Sounds like you, my dear, are in a really good, balanced place. Namaste.
Love you.
this was a very uplifting post. i loved it.
I really love the new colors and layout. It's very upbeat and sunshiney! I dig.
You've also inspired me to make sure my yoga DVDs are readily available for after the move so I can start back up with that ASAP.
I miss yoga.
Oh my gosh I LOVE this layout! Um, and everything about this post/you.
Wandering feet!
You are SO inspiring me to get my butt back to yoga. I derailed during the holidays and haven't been back since. Some sweaty CorePower sounds pretty good right now. Who knows, maybe this time I'll be able to hold crow pose for more than 5 seconds!
Love ya #1 !
