This is what I ended up making for my Election Party (sorry the pic is blurry! I should’ve taken it with my camera, not my phone…):
ObamaDogs! (Chicago-Style Mini Hot Dogs!)
I had pepperocini peppers (I think these were key), chopped onions, tomatoes and pickles. I used bun-length hot dogs and sliced the dogs/buns into thirds, piled them on a plate and let everyone dress them up the way they wanted.
My cupcakes did NOT work out so well (note: do NOT neglect the muffin cups when working with Angel Food cake. Those are tough to get out of the pans without completely smashing and squishing the light and airiness that is angel food cake.)
This is when I broke out the champagne:
How did the picture of my TV screen turn out clear when the one of the food in front of me did not? Hmmm… iPhone camera requires super steady hands…)
All in all? Great night! (Too much wine/champagne… but it was a definite celebration!)
